Chris Holdsworth - Owner and Director Chris Holdsworth (born 1976) started with Holdsworth Bros at fourteen years of age, working after school and during holidays on the shop floor. After Year 12 he completed a Bachelor of Commerce and entered Holdsworth Bros working full time, both on the shop floor and preparing the company books. In 1998 he finished top of his class in Australia with a Diploma in Gemmology and completed a Diploma in Diamond Technology in the same year. The following year he became a member of the National Council of Jewellery Valuers. At work Chris carries out a management role, purchases and grades all the diamonds and coloured gemstones, prepares the company books and performs general administrational tasks. After hours he lectures and volunteers at the Gemmological Association of Australia.
Tim Holdsworth - Owner and Director Tim Holdsworth (Born 1978) first started working in the business wrapping the Christmas gifts when he was thirteen. Working and studying, he finished Year 12 in 1995 and went on to study Fine Art Gold and Silversmithing at RMIT University. Moving to the business full time in 1999, Tim took courses in enamelling, gemmology and diamond grading with the Gemmological Association of Australia and enjoys designing much of the jewellery in the three stores. Tim became an owner and director of Holdsworth Bros. Jewellers in 2004 and divides his time among the stores as a jeweller and sales consultant as well as travelling overseas with Chris to source and purchase many of the fine gemstones used in their jewellery . He enjoys his spare time fishing, canoeing, cooking and playing with his golden retriever, Poppy.
Sandy - Manager Knox Sandy started with Holdsworth Bros. in charge of the repair department in 1982. Her strong work ethic and dedication to the job saw that by 1985 she was appointed Store manager. In 1987 she was a state finalist in The Age business executive of the year and furthered her education in 1989 by completing the Diploma in Gemmology at the Gemmological Association. This was followed it up in 2003 with a Diploma of Diamond Technology and Advanced Diamond Grading. During her dedicated work history with Holdsworth Bros. she worked closely with John Holdsworth, assisted on overseas buying trips with Anna Holdsworth and has many memories of Chris and Tim Holdsworth as small children running amok in the shop. In her spare time she tends to her pet goats, house, garden, loving husband and interest in architecture.
Shana - Manager Eastland Shana started with Holdsworth Bros in July 2000 with a strong background in art and design. She studied Visual Merchandising and was awrded her Advanced Diploma in Engineering (Jewellery Design and Metalsmithing) in 2004 where she graduated top of her class. Concurrently she also completed Practical Diamond Grading and Advanced Practical Diamond Grading at the Gemmological Association of Australia. In 2006 she was awarded her Certificate IV in Gemmology and also received the Jewellers Association of Australia Award for the highest mark for a trade-based student and became a Fellow of the Gemmological Association of Australia. In 2007 she obtained her Diploma in Diamond Technology at the GAA where she also continues to volunteer her time as a practical demonstrator and teaching the jewellery design courses.
Carmen - Manager Camberwell Carmen entered the business as a sales consultant in 1998 after completing high school. Working at the Eastland store she was quickly recognised as a charismatic, hard working and reliable sales consultant with a keen interest in fashion and jewellery. Completing her degree in architecture, she was the natural choice to manage the Camberwell store when it opened in 2005. The store has grown dramatically under her management and this success may be explained in part by the large amount of jewellery that she purchases from the store each year. In her spare time she enjoys travelling, going out with friends and keeping an eye on all the latest fashion magazines. In 2011 she married Tim Holdsworth.
Peter - Head Jeweller Peter started with the business on St. Patricks day, 1997 as the head jeweller. He started his apprenticeship in 1985 and his attention to detail and finely tuned hand skills were recognised as he was awarded the Australian Apprentice of the Year in 1987. He went on to expand his knowledge of Gemstones by completing the Diploma of Gemmology at the Gemmological Association of Australia where he also has donated his time as a class teacher. He recently completed his Diamond Grading Certificate and has become a proud father of two boys.
