Cultured Pearl

Cultured pearls are created by inserting a small bead or piece of tissue into an oyster or mussel, which then secretes layers of nacre around it to form a pearl. Cultured pearls can come in various shapes (round, oval, baroque) and colors (white, black, pink), depending on the type of mollusk used and the conditions under which they were grown. The quality and value of a cultured pearl is determined by factors such as its size, shape, color, luster (shine), surface quality (smoothness), and matching with other pearls in a strand or set.

Careful handling is important when wearing or storing cultured pearls; they should be kept away from chemicals like perfume or hairspray that can damage their surface. They also need to be cleaned regularly with mild soap and water to remove any dirt or oils that may have.
